The day is ending. We are above Alsasua, between the Llanada Alavesa and the Barranca Navarra.

Sakana Valley, Navarra, beginning of the second stage of BASOAK.

The vision of the mountain of Beriain will be a constant in our passage for La Sakana.

We finish La Sakana and prepare for Zuazarrate, the first port of the day. Las 2 hermanas of Irurtzun take over the landscape.

We arrived in Astiz, pure bucolism between Lekunberri and the Sakana Valley by the Alto de Zuazarrate.

We cross the Larraun in Lekunberri and passing through Uitzi and Leitza we will look for the Baztan.

If we chose the PLUS option, we started the second stage following part of the route of La Vuelta al País Vasco 2015. We entered Gipuzkoa by the Port of Lizarrusti (on this side a simple slope).

It will be our turn to clench our teeth in the Gaintza Wall. The wall in question includes a very hard stretch of 1.6 km to 15.3% -Option PLUS-

Ridge between Ahusky and Bagargi. On clean days the view extends on the right to the Gulf of Bizkaia and on the left towards the high peaks of the Pyrenees. Without any doubt, one of the best sections of cycling in the whole Pyrenees. The peloton of La Vuelta España 2016 is marching towards the Central Pyrenees. We will continue along the Cordillera road to look for Bagargi and Casas de Irati.

We continue looking for Bagargi.

Participants of the Irati Extrem 2013 in Irati-Cize. At this point begins our last climb of the day to the small Port (by this side) of Burdinkurutzeta.

Last stage, hard fight in the ascent to COL of Arnostegi by Ondarolle. Better to bring good "paella" in the back wheel.

High part of Arnostegi among shreds of fog, one of the best weather conditions to raise "cooled" the hard and prolonged slopes of this Pyrenean colossus.

And much better if a little later the fog stays down. Bucolic scenes in the 5 star territory of the Basque Pyrenees.
